THE CITY\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\'S IMPORTANT HISTORICAL MOMENTS
In 1382 in the castle in Darłowo Eric the oldest son of prince Warcisław VII and Maria Maklennburska was born. On 17^th June 1397 he was officialy coronated on the King of Denmark, Sweden and Norway. From that time this evet is cellebreted every year. After the death of Quenn of Denmark , Eric was loosing his popularity. He was implicated in many wars. He was even called "The last Viking" In 1449 he come back to Darłowo. He died in 1459. One of Western Pomeranian Princes was Bogusław X (1454-1523). He built up the castle for his mother Sofia. In 1497 Darłowo was flooded with a storm which dameged some parts of port. The same situation was also in 1558. In 1589,1624 and 1648 there were also three big fires in Darłowo. The last Prince Bogusław XiV died in 1637. After his wife\\\'s death , Darłowo was belang to Hohenzollen Family. The increase of the town was soon stopped by fires and epidemics. The situation had lasted to the end of the XVIII century. After that the port had been rebuilt. One of the Best periods of time for Darłowo was the period of Napoleon\\\'s occupation. The part was controled by French. Inhabitans of Darłowo were smuggling luxury British goods.

The commune of Darłowo covers 269 km² and has 7558 inhabitants. Darłowo is located in the north-east part of the Western Pomerania voivodship.
